The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Rhode Island has had an active year.

Following the first regular event, a cocktail party in September, monthly luncheon meetings were held. Milt Piepul, former football coach, was the speaker in October. Professor-emeritus Edmund H. Booth '18 spoke at the November meeting. Undergraduates were guests at the December 29 gathering. Preceding the Brown hockey game on February 3 a buffet supper took place at the University Club.

The Glee Club concert, held at the Barrington High School on March 19, was the high spot of the year. $900 was realized to be added to the Ruggles Scholarship.

Eighty members attended the annual dinner at the Hearthstone Motor Lodge on May 5. Associate Dean Charles F. Dey '52 was the guest speaker and discussed the College's program to provide disadvantaged students with an opportunity to attend college. The following officers were elected to serve for the coming year: President, Raymond J. McMahon Jr. '43; vice president, Walter M. Rankin '26; secretary, FranklinS. Eggleston '32; treasurer, Donald W. Barr'26; assistant secretary-treasurer, Stevan B.Little '55; Ruggles Scholarship chairman, Townes M. Harris Jr. '47; Ruggles Committee member-at-large, Edward Winsor '24; enrollment chairmen, Robert H. Zeiser '49 and Ralph Warburton '47; Dartmouth Book Award chairman, Joseph McCormick Jr. '42.
