Much of the news that reaches us these days is sad news. Dr. Edward Ross died on November 25. An obituary notice appeared in the last issue of this MAGAZINE. Dr. Ross' death leaves Dr. Edgar Philbrook of 1320 Sunkist Ave., W. Covina, Calif., as the sole survivor of the Class of 1886. Dr. Philbrook is 95 years old.

After learning of Dr. Ross' death, we also heard of the death on November 23 of Mrs. Burley, wife of Harry Burley. Harry died in August 1954.

Eleanor Richmond, who helped out for so many years with the secretarial chores of 1886, reports that she has been in ill health for some time but is now feeling much better. She has been living with her sister, Mrs. Walter D. Huse, of 420 Main St., Laconia, N. H. We are sure she would be glad to hear from any of the '86 family.

Mr. Samuel J. Smith '99 recently sent the Acting Secretary an original copy of the invitations to the Commencement of the Class of 1886. We have been unable to find this little booklet, which contains a program of events, among the papers of the class, and we are very grateful to Mr. Smith for sending this copy for the "archives."
