After a very cool winter, the ole Sunny South is finally coming into its own with the right type of weather ... kinda nice to have a real winter for a change, although the natives thought otherwise. We had our share of rain, too, but nothing as bad as other states ... just enough to seep down and kiss the roots of the dry crops that needed it so much. So much for a weather briefing.

The intensification of enlistment and enrollment activities mid the Georgia alumni has hit new peaks, with everyone's nose keenly set to the grindstone. We've interviewed some darned good material so far, approximately ten have stood the real test, and we have about the same number to complete on our records. The efforts and results will probably be old news by the time this issue comes out, but again we have been extra enthusiastic with this year's work, and the possibilities on the horizon for representation-plus from the State of Georgia.

Presently, we are anticipating the arrival and a visit from Dean Joseph L. McDonald, scheduled for the evening of March 28, whence we have planned a general gathering and pow-wow for all Georgia Greens and their lovely squaws. The festive occasion will take place out at the Naval Air Station in Chamblee, with a cocktail hour and the usual fine foods. The turnout is expected to be large, and we'll have all the dope on this affair in the next issue of the MAGAZINE.

TO NO TE:... Delighted to hear that Maurie Readey '46 is up and around again after a prolonged illness ... a hearty welcome to new alumni recently added to the Georgia roster: Dr. John Pace '51, in Atlanta at Grady Hospital; Dr. John B. Harmon '38, and JohnL. Sewall '42, at Warm Springs; John W. McCauley 3rd '55, and Allen B. Wrisley 3rd '50, in Atlanta Wedding bells will resound in April for big Ed Gingrich '48, and that big buyer at Rich's, Joel Goldberg '47, who will marry Miss Carol Brockie, daughter of the general merchandising manager there.... In the Hall of Fame, Ernie Rogers, special staff writer for the Atlanta Journal and father of "two-date" Wally Rogers '56, was given a much deserved write-up in the recent Reader'sDigest under "The Most Unforgettable Character I've Ever Met." That's it, fellersl!
