Saturday, June 23, is the date to save. It's the date of the Philadelphia Dartmouth Club's Annual Picnic at Jim Tin/lie's Valley Forge Farm. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of swimming, Softball, sunbathing, and refreshments - liquid (beer and soft drinks) and solid (hot dogs, etc.). The cost is only $1 per person, with children under 16 free. More details and route directions will soon arrive in your mail, if they haven't already. The large turnout we've had the last few years shows how much fun this family event is. If you missed it last year, don't miss it this time. If you were there last year, we're sure we'll see you again on the 33rd.

Jim Tindie was also host last month to a fine turnout of young men accepted for the Class of '60 and their dads, and alumni connected with enrollment and interviewing. English mentor and rowing coach Thaddeus Seymour and football line coach Jack Musick represented Hanover. Our largely unsung alumni who do the enrollment and interviewing job in the Philadelphia area deserve a lot of credit. The caliber of those selected for Dartmouth indicates the quality of job they do.

As of the time of writing, our so£tball team has gotten off to a fine start by clobbering the Merion Cricket Club Nine, 9-3. Observers say that it looks like a good season for the Indians if our champions continue to turn out in full strength.
