May birthday greetings to Ralph Hawkes,Tom Whittier, Warren Kendall and TimLynch. Hawley Chase is in politics again, was running for member of the Newport, N.H., School Board back in February, but we haven't yet heard how he came through. We hope he made it. Montie Fuller is holding his own, but has to take it easy. Bert Boston still lives in Athens, Me., but the only word from him in a long time was the return card concerning the March 3 Roundup telling that he couldn't come, this card bearing postmark date of March 5. Laura and Herb Rogers made a weekend visit with friends in Newton on the way home from the Roundup, and Laura had the misfortune of missing the last step of the stairs, and went down, spraining her ankle. Fortunately no bones were broken. In Herb's letter of March 17 he said the ankle was still pretty sore, but he hoped it would be OK for them to attend the Roundup next spring.

A letter from Florence Cushman tells her regrets at being unable to attend the Roundup, but a "rather full schedule in her music teaching kept her home at Randolph, Vt. Anne Oakes' brother, Comdr. Thomas R. Kurtz USN, passed away suddenly from a heart attack at Tom Oakes' ranch in Mexico in March. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery, and Warren Kendall, happening to be in Washington at the time, attended the graveside services. Our sympathies go out to Anne in her further bereavement.

The Class of '99 has suffered another loss in the passing of Arthur Irving on March 27. Our hearts go out to "Tat" in her loss. A memorial will appear in In Memoriam.
