DARTMOUTH Night this fall will be held on Friday, October 11. This occurs on the eve of the Brown football game in Hanover, where the program will take the combined form of the traditional renewal of Dartmouth fellowship and the beating of the Indian war drums before the gridiron battle of the next afternoon. Dartmouth alumni groups throughout the country will be meeting at the same time, and their greetings to the College will be one of the features of the speaking program.
Walter T. Clarkson '54 has joined the administrative staff of the College as Assistant to the Dean of the College. He replaces David H. Edson '52 who has become Academic Counselor in the Office of Student Counseling. Mr. Clarkson since graduation has served in the Marine Corps, spent one year at Columbia for his Master's degree, and taught English at Hanover High School for one semester. A Phi Beta Kappa student at Dartmouth, he was captain of both the track and cross-country teams, and won the Perkins Prize for Literature.
Three newly appointed members of the Board of Overseers of the Tuck School are Charles F. McGoughran '20 of New York, corporate secretary of the Sinclair Oil Corporation; Orton H. Hicks '21 of New York, director of research and development for Loew's International Corporation; and Thomas B. Curtis 32 of St. Louis, member of the U. S. Congress from the Second Missouri District.
