Spring greets Twoters back in Hanover, a classmate slips regretfully, we move around, Twoters and class sons add more laurels, and, as usual, we socialize.

41 members of the class family were back in Hanover at our annual little reunion during the weekend of March 15. We were quite a clan with sixteen classmates, fourteen wives (those lucky girls), eight progenies, two daughters-in-law, and a freshman student guest. Words are inadequate to capture the good talk, the wit, the laughter, the cordiality of the entire get-together but it has to be "words, words, words."

Spring was busting out with perfect weather on Friday when most of us began our pilgrimage. After dinner, with the unique delight of Twoters together again in Hanover, we just talked and talked.

After a leisurely breakfast on Saturday, we had a constructive symposium on the welfare of the College and our class responsibility towards Dartmouth. If the sons of the old Mother won't, who will?

Following a most enjoyable cocktail party and dinner, Saturday evening, most of the group went to a student Variety Show in Webster Hall. Good, but not as good as in our day, of course, despite such present attractions as the "Wellesley Blue Notes" and the "Vermont Coeds" - how times have progressed?

Sunday: "Of course, we'll be back next year - wouldn't miss it for anything. Do you think there is possibly any other place like Hanover?" Is there?

Our little reunion roll call: Bob and Lois Booth, with senior son Tom; Bill and Odie Lee Bullen, with freshman son Jed, junior son Bill, and wife Jean; Bob and Grace Clark; Jack Dodd; Carroll and Nan Dwight, with daughter Susan; Carter and Alie Hoyt, with daughter Nancy; Steve Renvoi!; Fran and Lucy Leland; Andy and Charlotte Marshall; Stan and Catherine Miner, with freshman guest, Robert Rhines; Len and Margaret Morrissey with son Len and wife Winnie; Olie and Elspeth Olsen; Walt and Doris Sands, with sophomore son Bob, and junior son Frank; Steve and Reine Tredennick; Herb and Karen West; Dick and Ruth Wood. It was especially pleasant for all of us to see our two worthy Hanover professors, Olie Olsen and Herb West in fine fettle.

A nostalgic greeting came to us from Johnny Shea in Miami: "Warm regards and envious greetings to all you lucky Twoters." Wish you were with us in Hanover, Johnny and Anna. Bill Mann, with wife Betty and son John, unfortunately was not able to be with us as he had planned. Bill had the misfortune to fall on the ice and break four ribs while on a business trip in Providence during February. Under the highly esteemed direction of classmate Dr. Egon Kattwinkle, - you remember Kattie - Bill is convalescing satisfactorily and expects to be fully recovered soon.

We Twoters are not static - that's for certain. Since last summer when Carroll Dwight compiled and published our latest Class Address List, there have been 17 address changes according to College records. If you have been looking for some classmate you could not find, he may be in the following new address group:

The jungle drums rumble with more good news of the class. Is it news when New Hampshirites ask a Vermonter to lead a meeting or doesn't the Connecticut River still flow between the two states? Well, that happened when our Rev. Richard F. Beyer, Dick to us, presided at a gathering of New Hampshire Congregational and Baptist ministers held in Concord during the late winter. Dick continues a most serviceable career. After graduating with us he received his B.D. degree from Bangor Theological Seminary in 1925 and was'ordained at North Pomfret, Vt. His first pastorate was at the Union Church, Pocantico Hills, N. Y. He was subsequently minister of the Congregational Church at North Bennington, Vt., and of the First Congregational Church at Concord for 16 years. Dick is now and for the past ten years has been minister of the First Congregational Church at Springfield, Vt. His associations include director of the New Hampshire Council of Religious Education, trustee of Bangor Theological Seminary, trustee of New Hampshire Bible Society, and vice president of the Vermont Congregational Society.

John L. Taylor has been elected executive vice-president and a member of the board of directors of Edwards and Co., Norwalk, Conn. Congratulations, Jack. Our newest board member has been with the Edwards Co. since 1925 and worked as a salesman in New York and district manager in Chicago before being appointed vice-president in charge of sales in 1950. Jack and Sylvia live in Westport, Conn.

At their Marblehead home in early March, Steve and Reine Tredennick entertained a fine gathering of Twoters and wives. The group included Elmer and Frances Ardiff,Bill and Odie Lee Bullen, Nick and LouiseCarter, Walt and Doris Sands, Dick and MaryLou Willis, and Bob Bishop '25 with wife, Gretchen. With Steve's and Reine's hospitality and Dick Willis at the piano - "Whispering," "Avalon," "Japanese Sandman," as only Dick can play them, nothing could possibly be added.

Bill Gallagher, Bill Bullen, and your scribe represented '22 at the Boston Alumni Fund Dinner in late March. Bill Gallagher was looking forward to a spring trip to the North Country including a visit to Hanover, of course.

Also during March, Dick and Dot Stetson,Carroll and Nan Dwight were dinner guests of Carter and Alie Hoyt. These good wives grew accustomed to constant male conversation about the College years ago - now they even bring up the subject themselves - when they get a chance.

Confidential to Frank and Betty Horan: The squash team with the help of a sophomore named John Horan, according to The Dartmouth: "Was the best ever to represent Dartmouth and its nine victories were the most for any team in the history of squash at the College." If his parents don't compliment John properly, the Class will, even if our commendation has to be sent to Florida where John is with the Big Green tennis squad for spring vacation practice.

Via microwave from Hanover beamed exclusively to Bill and Odie Lee: Dartmouth tennis coach Red Hoehn says "This year's team should be one of the best in a long time." Rejoining the team after two years of military service is Bill Bullen. Bullen played for the Green in 1952 and is expected to provide added strength to this year's team. Based on the results of a tournament held among the players last fall Bullen rates as number one." Please, Dad, please, no fatherson match.

"Welcome aboard" to Bill Pope and Bill Rex who have cooperatively joined the FFF - our Fighting Fifty Five class agents who are now working "To Better Our Best Past Performance" in the current Alumni Fund.

The result this year depends upon each and every one of us individually. Give loyally, give realistically, give generously. Dartmouth needs your help.
