Thanks to Jim Gregg, Class Agent, we can report that Walt Netsch spent the winter in California but returned to Chicago in time to take on the duties of class agent for the Chicago-Illinois area. A note from Gordon Sleeper says,

"Spring must have been in the air, for the nine Fourteeners who met at the Dartmouth Club of New York for a class dinner Thursday evening, April 18 had a very gay time. Jimmy Gregg was the unexpected but welcome guest. Present also were Dalton Baldwin, Dick Barlow, Fred Davidson, Bill Hands, Walt Humphrey, Chuck Kingsley, Johnny Palmer and Gordon Sleeper. Under gentle prodding from Gordon, Fred Davidson told the story of his seventeen years as President of Refined Sugars and Syrups, Inc., that have culminated in a highly successful merger with Corn Products Refining Company. From Chuck Kingsley were drawn highlights of his fifteen years as counsel and top executive of Grumman Aircraft and Engineering Company."

Fred Campbell and wife are apparently enjoying some travel since retirement as they are reported in Hanover during April. It seems that Enders Voorhees did not have enough takers for bridge, etc., in his new office so has become a director and member of the executive committee of Electric Bond & Share Co. There has been a rumor circulating about to the effect that Aborn was seen waltzing with a blonde at the Elbow Beach Club in Bermuda around the middle of April and further that he was awarded a bottle of champagne. To forestall further ramifications your secretary confesses to the authenticity of the rumor and further deposes that enjoyment of the wine was shared by the Ross Gambles ('33h) and the Sidney Stonemans ('33). Who says 1914 is decadent?

After 27 years of service Al Richmond retired on April 30 from the national headquarters staff of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Under the caption, "The End of a Career," the Berlin, N. H. Reporter writes,

"On August 1, one of Berlin's most distinguished and best-loved citizens, Caleb H. Niles, steps down from a post he has held for 17 years, superintendent of schools. Needless to say, his services will be keenly missed here. A man admired by educators and laymen alike, Niles has done a truly good job. Coming here from Dartmouth, Mass., 17 years ago, Niles quickly became a Berlinite through and through. His sage advice has been sought on matters other than education on more than one occasion."

We regret to report the death of Edward T. Osborn in Sea Girt, N. J. More in the obituary section.

As these notes are written we are on our way to Hanover to join Pres. Buck, Treas. Batchelder, and Class Agent Jim Gregg at the annual Class Officers Meeting — May 3-4. Unfortunately as you read in the Newsletter, Mart Remsen has to be out of town that weekend. And so au-revoir until fall. It would be very pleasant to have a note or a card telling of people seen, places visited, or any other news of your experiences during the summer. My mail-box will be receptive! Have a good summer!
