Fund Report
June 1957

Entering the final month of the 1957 campaign, the Dartmouth Alumni Fund began to pull ahead of the 1956 pace and Fund officials are confident that new records are in the making. Figures on May 25 showed that 10,746 alumni, parents and friends had already contributed $500,125 to the 1957 goal of $865,000. This is 125 contributors and $14,186 ahead of last year's campaign on the same date. The Dartmouth Parents Campaign was holding even with 1956, with 819 families of Dartmouth students giving $38,105 to May 25.

In a letter sent on May 22 to all Head Class Agents, Fund Chairman William G. Morton '28 reported: "I am more convinced than ever, as a result of the progress in the last few weeks, that we are going to have a successful year. There is ample time left for a strong closing push such as we had in 1956. If we can accomplish this with an increase of some 700 contributors, we should not only maintain our national leadership, but further, bring in sufficient dollars to insure a most successful year."
