AN official summary of enrollment, in the 1958-59 student directory just out, gives Dartmouth's current undergraduate total as 2,855, an increase of 37 over last year. The freshman class, which ran second to the sophomores last year, has resumed numerical superiority with 771 men. There are 687 men in '61, 677 in '60, and 634 in '59. Seventy-three undergraduates from the Classes of 1953 through 1958 are also registered, along with ten unclassifieds and three special students.
Also enrolled at Dartmouth this fall are 157 full-time graduate students and 99 part-time students for a grand total of 3,111, which compares with 3,063 last year.
Tuck School continues to lead in associated school enrollment with 170 men, of whom 98 are first-year, 67 second-year and five special students. Dartmouth Medical School has 24 men in each of the two classes, plus one special and 58 post-doctoral students for a grand total of 107. Thayer School has 29 first-year men and 19 second-year men for a total of 48, down twelve from last year. Twenty-four men are enrolled in the Tuck-Thayer program, 16 in the first year and eight in the second.
