Eugene D. Towler '17

Eugene D. Towler '17 (left), who is with the advertising department of Holiday magazine in New York, has been named by his colleagues throughout the nation as "Holiday Man of the Year" for outstanding sales performance in 1958. The picture shows him being congratulated by Denis Murray, sales manager.

The honor was announced at a recent meeting in Philadelphia of Holiday publication managers from the magazine's ten branch offices across the country. Mr. Towler, who for many years was with Country Gentleman magazine, has been with Holiday since 1955.

Mr. Towler was secretary to President Hopkins from the spring of 1917 until he entered the Chemical Warfare Service of the U. S. Army in 1918. In college he was on the editorial boards of The Dartmouth and the Aegis, was manager of varsity baseball, and was a member of Palaeopitus, the DCAC, The Players, Beta Theta Pi and Sphinx.

Mr. Towler is an active member of the Dartmouth Club of Western Connecticut. For several years he was chairman of the Dartmouth interviewing committee for Darien, Conn.
