Waldo Davis experienced a most enjoyable trip this summer. He motored to Chicago through Pennsylvania and then crossed "Old Man River" at Dubuque. Continuing north to Minnesota, he crossed over the line at the Soo and travelled through Canada to his home. ... Ned Warren writes they have had rather a tough winter in Orford, with a lot of snow, very cold weather, and very little sun. But having seen their woodpile, we know they were comfortable inside their old colonial home. ... Chan and May Cox left Boston the last of January for the Hillsboro Club, Pompano Beach, Fla., where they plan to spend the month of February. ... Helen and Charlie Chase spent a most happy Christmas with their son Richard and his family in Akron, Ohio.

We were grieved and shocked this morning to read of the death of Henry Salomon, Henry and Lucia's oldest son, at his home in New York City. Henry was forty years old, a National Broadcasting Company executive and producer of two of this network's most successful series, "Victory at Sea" and "Project so." Last year he was made head of the NBC Special Project Unit, which was to create a wide variety of special interest programs. He graduated from Harvard in 1939 and was a former Naval officer. On assignment to the office of the Secretary of the Navy in World War II, he produced a Navy sponsored network radio series. He made six landings in major combat operations while collaborating in the production of a fourteen-volume history of United States Naval operations in the war. He is survived by his mother, a sister and a brother. Our deepest sympathy will go out to Lucia in the loss of this beloved son.
