On Sunday, February 2, The Long Island Association held a gathering at the Garden City Hotel, and our position was greatly enhanced when Bob Blackman, head football coach, personally welcomed and spoke to 34 potential Dartmouth men and their fathers. This affair was perhaps the best run meeting we have had in connection with enrollment. Vince Turecamo '37, enrollment chairman, who has done a magnificent job all year long, did it again.

Your dues contributions ($3.00 please if not yet paid) will further be used this spring for what will undoubtedly be the largest and most exciting meeting of Dartmouth alumni yet held on Long Island. On May 15 - please make note of this now - The Nassau Inn, 800 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, will be the site of a dinner party welcoming all incoming freshmen and their parents. Combined with this welcoming affair will be an Awards Night, at which three Tomahawks, symbolic of our Association's appreciation of work and help given us, will be presented; one each to two outstanding College officials, and one to our immediate past president, Ted Girault '27. And, as if this isn't enough, the Master of Ceremonies will be a well-known personality in the world of sports and literature. The names of the principals will be divulged in an announcement you will receive in late April or early May.

And finally, don't forget about our Annual Beach Party, to be held again at Gilgo Beach, this year on Sunday, June 29. It's an all-day affair for the whole family.

One of the most constructive ideas to come forth in recent years is now being avidly pursued by your Association. With Bud Hummel and "Doc" Higgins leading the way, plans are being made with other Ivy League Long Island alumni groups to form a Long Island Ivy League University Club. Most of the officers of these clubs have been contacted, and plans are being made for an initial meeting.

Don't forget, dues go to Norman Falkin '47, Treasurer, at 1605 Broadway, New Hyde Park, N. Y.
