March 15 brought together several '98 men with some family representation in each case, and several local Dartmouth alumni from other classes. Besides your Secretary the men present were Archie Kendall and Melvin Smith from '98, Warren Kendall '99, Steve Chase '96 and Fred Chase '05 - a small group, but it was good to gather once again as in previous years. An equal number of men and women completed the group and helped make the occasion a gay one - a foretaste of the coming gathering in June in Hanover.
Speaking of Hanover your Secretary and Jeanne will be back at home by the first of May, provided snow conditions permit this is added because of what we expect to hear when back in the North about Florida's winer.
Our return brings us back in time for the annual gathering of class officers in Hanover, an affair which lasts for two busy days and offers much of interest to every type of class officer. It should be especially interesting this year with the changes, already in existence and planned for the years ahead, crowding in upon one another. Those of us at our reunion will be much surprised at the Hanover of today and more so at what is planned for the future. Though these will be the last Notes you will read before our class reunion, we cannot go into this extensive subject of changes at this time. Many of you will learn at first hand when in town, others will have occasion to know more of them in other ways now and later. In thinking about the June gathering of '98 it was noted that from 22 active '98 men on our list, 10 live in Massachusetts, 4 in New Hampshire, two in Florida and one, each, in California, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Vermont. Most of us live not far from Hanover and of these many will make it their target June 6 to 8. We hope also for a good representation from the "one-only" states, as well.
The photograph of our Reunion Committee Chairman at work makes us realize that he is diligent and resourceful. Let each one of us think twice before he makes a thoughtless decision not to attend the reunion.
