The Dartmouth Club of New York City Redecorates Itself from Top to Bottom

The address is the same - 37 East 39th Street - but the Dartmouth Club of New York City has a sparkling new look these days. A complete remodeling and redecorating job was finished in January, and on the strength of it, the Club expects to be more popular than ever as a gathering place for Dartmouth men and their guests.

Two major additions to the Club are a new Ladies' Cocktail Lounge upstairs, where the Wilson Library used to be, and a new Service Dining Room downstairs. The latter has been constructed in the space formerly known as the Landon Room; it has a Colonial decor, is air-conditioned, and is open to the ladies. These changes in the Club have been made in keeping with the growing tendency of Dartmouth men to bring their wives and feminine guests to the Club.

Masculine strongholds still abound. The Men's Lounge, adjacent to the Men's Bar, has been named the Eleazar Wheelock Tavern and has been done over in warm tones of brown and gold. Also redecorated are the Card Room and Library, which has bar service, and the Reading Alcove, where magazines and newspapers are available.

The Dartmouth Club of New York City extends a warm welcome to all out-of-town alumni. Those who wish can take a non-resident membership for only $25 a year. Resident memberships, at rates providing, "the best college club buy in New York," range from $25 to $7O a year.

The new Ladies' Cocktail Lounge, with bright decor, is an ideal meeting spot. It is open from 12 noon.
