Eddie Skinner reports as of the first of May that prospects for 100% participation in the Fund Drive look good. But he hopes that those who intend to contribute will do so as early as possible.

Recent sad news from York Village: RalphHawkes' oldest daughter, Georgia Sturtevant, 52, died March 29. Her husband, Roy Whit-man Sturtevant, is a retired Inspector at the Kittery Navy Yard. Almost exactly a year ago another loss: Irene Goddard Walker, widow of Fred Austin Walker, died March 30, 1957. The Class extends its sincere sympathy to both families. Fred's son Stanley reports that he and Gladys have moved into the "Stone Cottage," 335 Church St., Northboro, Mass. They now have a fifth child, Jeffrey George, born July 2, 1954.

By the time you read this the Swampscott Round-Up will be over. Its story will come to you in some detail in the October MAGAZINE, or in some other way sooner. We hope you were there. The memorial article on Ned Baldwin is in this issue. Several days later in the Bradford, Vt., "United Opinion" a more detailed story will appear by the cooperation of the local editor and Dr. Sanford B. ("Sandy") Hooker '09, one of Ned's Academy students.

Here are several items from Bert Boston's letter, as the secretary promised in the May issue. Bert still has his filling station in Athens, Me., has the exclusive agency in Somerset County for a high-grade stove, and deals also in miscellaneous used merchandise, besides being a justice of the peace, non-trial. His wife Nina, as for the past 20 years, is town clerk. Their oldest son, Warren Adelbert, unmarried, lives with them, but works in central and northern Maine as fireman of a construction crew. Their younger son Howard works for a heavy equipment company in Augusta, is married and has three daughters. Both boys were in World War II; Warren in the Air Force, Howard in the Navy. Both came out as sergeants. Bert's daughter, Barbara, with her husband Raymond Harville, former Navy man, and their son Allan live next door. Allan is a senior in high school.

The secretary wishes to correct one statement in the May issue. The telephone call that Rodney Sanborn received in Miami was not from Joe Gannon's son-in-law, Winter Read, but from Winter's brother Tom's son Emerson Read, who is in business in that city. Tom and Emerson visited Joe last November. If you are interested in genealogy: Winter, Tom, and another brother Myles are 9th in direct line from Myles Standish.

Warren and Helen Kendall were in Washington again in early April. Warren was busy with I.C.C. matters. Helen was performing her duties as President of the Dames of the Loyal Legion, U. S. She was also a guest of honor at the banquet of the D.A.R.

Minnie (Mrs. Owen A.) Hoban is still in the good hands of her niece Olive McKenna, who has always lived with her and Owen, and since the latter's death in 1952 has taken full care of her. During the past year Minnie has had a slight cerebral, and also an attack of pneumonia, so now there is a nurse in the household too. Phil Winchester, Olive writes, was a most faithful correspondent, and Minnie is happy to know that '99 has not forgotten her.

As you travel about between now and October send a "Hello" to Hawley Chase on June 12, to Bill Hutchinson on August 22, and to Gus Heywood on Sept. 7. Why? Right the first time, - birthdays!

A happy summer to each and all, and no matter what Congress may have done with Mr. Summerfield's bill, squander a stamp, be it 3¢,4¢, or 5¢ on the country P.O. in Bradford, N. H.

A Dartmouth get-together in Florida this winter was enjoyed by (l to r) Mrs. Archie Kendall, Archie Kendall '98, Fred Lord '98, Melvin Smith '98 and Warren Kendall '99.
