DARTMOUTH'S unbeaten rugby team flew to England over the Christmas holidays to play some crack English teams on a tour sponsored by President Eisenhower's People-to-People sports program, established to foster international good will through sports competition. Against Canadian and American opposition this fall the Dartmouth team was unbeaten, untied, and unscored-upon in six games; and it placed this record on the block against some of the finest British teams in seven "fixtures" - the British word for a rugby match.

The team played the Britishers at their own sport on their home grounds, and by mid-December Dartmouth had come through with flying colors, winning the first two games and maintaining an unblemished record. In the opening game against Haslemere, tries by Krutsch, Glazier, and Brown, and a penalty kick by Stockholm gave the Dartmouth ruggers a 12-0 shutout over the British. In the second game, against Old Millhillians, right winger Jake Crouthamel scored soon after half-time and Krutsch converted to settle things, 5-0.

But win or lose, the team went to England principally to learn, and to it the trip was a valuable opportunity to gain experience on the rugby field.

A hearty "well played, chaps" is in order for the whole team.
