I did not attend the conference of ClassSecretaries and Treasurers held May 1 and2 at Hanover. If this merits my dismissal, Iwill raise no objection.

Ev reports that Mrs. Charles D. Montgomery, widow of "Monty," has moved fromBedford Hills, N. Y. Her new address is 183Pearl Street, Keene, N. H.

I regret to report that "Joe" Bartlett isnot in good condition. He has not been inhis office for some time. Is at home, has aday and night nurse. The report is that he isfairly comfortable. We all wish him a rapidimprovement.

"Bucky" Chandler is happy in that his youngest daughter has returned from two years spent in Turkey. Her husband is geologist for Standard Oil Co. In September they go to Algiers.

On June 29, 1959, I made an auto trip to Hanover with a friend who wanted to get into the Vermont hills, and look over Dartmouth. It was the hottest day of the year, I think. At the motel, it was a mere 105 degrees. Called on Fred Lord and his charming Superior Officer. Both appeared to be in excellent condition. We enjoyed our visit and an afternoon tea with them. Before these notes appear, "Fred" will have entertained Steven Frederic Lord, a candidate for Dartmouth 1982 (approximately), his brother, John '95, and his brother, Arthur '10.
