I am assembling these notes while flat on my back in bed entertaining a glorified Lumbago. It struck me down six days ago, and it still has a repertoire of new aches and pains to disturb the serenity of my body and mind.
Fred Lord covered the activities of the reunion in the July issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE in such an efficient manner as to render superfluous any additions by me. However, I can express my regret at not communing again with all members of the Class.
The Eckstorm party certainly had an eventful return trip. They made it in one day. But in the words of my informant, "We got caught in a slight (?) tornado, a flood, a trailer truck pulled out in front of us from a side road, without lights. From that point on we figured we were traveling on borrowed time." All's well that ends well.
"Ike" Seelman has compiled and published the Fourth Supplement to his work on "Law of Libel and Slander," and a copy thereof is to be found on the Dartmouth Authors' Shelf in the Baker Library. Be careful of your speech or writing before consulting this work which has been called
"The Libel Bible." Not to be outdone by Dad, "Ike's" two daughters, Viola and Constance, wrote and sung a poem as reported by Fred Lord (in fact two of them). Here is one - the other will appear in a future report.

Sing a song for "60", the Class of '98 Hail to all the Chieftains, they're here to celebrate.
The Squaws are in the tepees, papooses by the score The wampum's safely in the bank Now who could ask for more.
II.
When first they came to Dartmouth some 60 years ago Their arrows were much stronger, two strings to every bow.
Though many moons have come and gone New braves, new squaws abound These faithful elder Chieftains are still holding their ground.
III.
One Chief named "Ikey" Seelman has brought his faithful squaw As well as two papooses, by whom he's held in awe With heat and inside plumbing Old Dartmouth may be great But modern Grads are not the peers of good old '98.
Fred and Jeanne Lord are anticipating celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in September. They are planning a family reunion with Fred's brothers, John '95, Arthur '10 and sister, Laura, widow of Rob Scales '01, a good Dartmouth representation. They will miss Jeanne's family, circumstances prevent their being present.
