Congratulations to Tom Laughlin and the former Mia Kiernan who were married October 26. Tom received an MBA from Boston University and is an assistant product manager with the Gillette Company in Boston. Mia, a graduate of Manhattanville College, has been an account executive with the J. Walter Thompson Co. in New York. Mia is a well known equestrienne, having been a champion from 1970-72 in both the New Jersey Professional Horseman's Association, and the Horse Shows Association. As I recall, Tom is a rider of sorts also, and it was appropriate that a Texan in the form of Lew Sayers, be an usher at the wedding. The Laughlins will be riding the streets of Nahant, Mass.

Dan Hedges was part of the University of Texas moot court team in international law, which won an international competition against 70 U.S. law schools and representatives from other countries. In addition, Dan won the "best speaker" award in the international competition. This spectacular victory took place in June when Dan was a third-year law student.

The following briefs are courtesy of a lady who keeps tabs on a good number of the Class, the mother of Bob Ross, who reports that Bob has moved from Cambridge to New Haven where he has begun a doctoral program in sociology. Ken Warner is at the University of Michigan, teaching in the Public Policy program and doing research in medical economics under a USAID grant. Dave andDanielle Williams are both third-year law students at the University of Montreal. At Stanford we find Jamie Newton working towards a Ph.D. in psychology, Tom Ulen in history, and Larry Steinman, having completed his M.D. at Harvard. Doug Coulson is in the doctoral program in educational psychology at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Ed Cohen is commuting to Wall Street from Long Island, having finished Harvard Law School. A. J. Lonian is with I B M in Boston, and living in Waltham. At Harvard, Dan Bort is at the law school. Bob Tannenwald is finishing up a politics-economics doctorate and George Cobb has finished a doctorate in statistics, with his wife teaching at Mt. Holyoke.

Did anyone stop to wonder how many years of our lives we spend in school? Merry Christmas to all!
