Ambrose F. Dudley, President of the Liberty Bowl Association, spoke at our first special last Monday luncheon of the season on October 26. He related to the group the detailed procedures through which his Association had to go in order to obtain NCAA approval for a football bowl game in Philadelphia. He also described the planning and preparation which was going into putting on the first Liberty Bowl game on Saturday, December 19 of this year.
It is unfortunate that only eighteen alumni were on hand to hear Mr. Dudley's interesting and informative talk. November's last Monday luncheon will be over by the time you read these words. However, you can make it a point to be on hand for the last Monday luncheon on December 28, which will be our Christmas "Dutch Treat" luncheon for the undergraduates and their Dads.
We also hope that attendance at these special luncheons will improve inasmuch as a small turnout is not only discouraging to your officers but also makes it more difficult for us to obtain interesting speakers.
kooking into i960, we have two big events coming up in the first few months. The first is our Annual Dinner, which is tentatively slated for Friday evening, February 5. On Saturday evening, April 2, the Dartmouth Glee Club of Radio City Music Hall fame returns to Philadelphia after a three-year absence. Present plans are to hold both of these affairs at country clubs where we shall be able to have a full evening of social activity. Further details will appear in subsequent issues of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE and in mailings which will be sent to alumni.
