The top news this month has to do with Spique and Ruby MacIntyre. After tolerating New York for the past few years, events took a happy turn and they have returned to their home in Lexington, Mass.; a home which they hung onto during their stay in New York in the hope that the day would come when they could return. And that day finally came! Spique is now connected with a new Investment Company Division being set up under the auspices of the Small Business Administration, with offices at 131 State St., Boston. He had no sooner landed in Lexington than he had to turn around and head for Washington for a couple of weeks of briefing. But from now on, after hours and on weekends you will find the MacIntyres pleasantly ensconced at 203 Concord Avenue, Lexington.

Soon after the November elections I mentioned an unconfirmed report that JohnGuay had been elected a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. That report recently was confirmed by none other than John himself, so congratulations really are in order.

A fire of unknown origin did considerable damage to Chan and Hazel Steiger's home at Longmeadow, Mass., late one night in midDecember. Fast work by the local fire department limited structural damage to the kitchen but heavy smoke permeated the rest of the house. Chan and Hazel were out of town at the time of the fire.

A cryptic message from Russ Fisher said that as of January 12 his travel agency would become an adjunct of the Bank of Delaware, 901 Market St., Wilmington, Del. Russ indicated that the change is wonderful for the staff, and that he and Mary have agreed to stay on to direct affairs for three years. For ten years the organization will be known as the Russell S. Fisher Travel Department.

A Christmas card from Larry and LucileNourse announced that they were "leaving the snow drifts to you and Ralph Sanborn" and starting for Mexico. About a month later it was learned that they had arrived there and had been just wandering around and sightseeing, visiting such places as Monterrey, San Luis Potosi, Mexico City, Guadalajara and Mzatlan. Before they return they plan to explore the native as well as the featured spots just to see how the other fellow lives. Larry mentioned as being of particular interest the high mountain passes over which they traveled, the University of Mexico which he says is the oldest, largest (44,000 students) and most modern in America, the glass curtain in the Mexico City Opera House and the temples and pyramids of the Sun and Moon at Teotihuacan. We can hope that Larry will give us a more detailed account of their trip upon his return.

Here it is early February and not a sensible word has been heard from any of the Florida vacationers for several weeks. A few frivolous cards from the meandering Boyntons indicated that they have been thoroughly enjoying themselves with the Swetts, Blacks and more recently, the Hutchins. Mose and Pauline arrived in Sarasota on February 3, and are staying in the same apartment motel at which Angus and Belle Black are living. Speaking of these sun worshipers, I have it from a "usually reliable source" that a syndicate composed of the aforementioned Boynton, Swett and Black recently examined the Sarasota building site owned by SumnerEmerson and made him an offer to buy it for about 20% of its true market value with the idea of establishing a "trailer park for indigent Seventeeners." I haven't heard that Sumner accepted the offer.

I am happy to be able to report that Tommy (Errol) Thompson is up and about again following surgery for correction of a malfunctioning thyroid. Tommy says that he feels better now than he has in more than a year. His son, Linwood '41, did such a good job in the plant during Tommy's absence that he has about decided not to stay around the plant too much in the future, - just enough to keep an eye on what is going on.
