Spring fever makes my tendency to procrastinate even greater, but I have dedicated myself to the task of scratching out this column in spite of the beckoning rays of sunshine and inviting surf. Again, what "scratching" there is to be done will be necessarily brief as this month's pile of clippings has that lean look. I will attempt to fill in with editorial comment, so expect same.

Our own "marriage-go-round" spins on with a goodly number of classmates grasping the gold ring. Dick Sklover and Maxine Sugarman exchanged vows this past March in the Terrace Room of the Plaza Hotel in New York. Maxine attended the Berkeley Institute, and graduated from Bennett Junior College in 1957. Lt. John Demas' wedding to Julia Williams of Barnesville, Ga., was reported last month. Some additional information on Julia — she's an alumna of Mercer University in Macon, Ga.

Bob Leffert and Linda Barelik are planning a June wedding. Linda's a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and is employed by the Dreyfus Company. Bob is still interning in the Cornell Division of the Bellevue hospital in New York City. Rita Judd became Mrs. Robert Stirling in a ceremony mony performed in the First Presbyterian Church in Hartford. Bob is employed by IBM in Hartford, and he and Rita, a Wheaton graduate, have settled there.

News comes from Susie Bensing that she and Bud have enriched the Bensing fold by one - Earle Johnstone Bensing, born March 25. Bud's working for Champion Paper in Ohio, and he and Sue are settled in their own home there. The Bensings also claim one daughter, Janet Sue, born in February, '58.

Now let's take a brief look around the Class miscellaneously (there is such a word?). Gus Aberle is now stationed in Dahlgren, Va., working with the Navy Exchange there. Stan Bergman is a Law Student at the University of Michigan. Dick Cooper is a resident physician at the Buffalo General Hospital. Jack Doyle is stationed in Bayonne, N. J., at the Naval Supply Depot there. Bob Hayes is a Security Analyst with Equitable Life Insurance in New York City (Bob's residence - Bloomfield, N. J.). Bill Lenderking is a Public Affairs Trainee, USIA, in Washington. Mark Zimmerman is an attorney in the Carrier Relationship Division of the Civil Aeronautics Board in Washington. Elliott Vaughan is in Sales Service with Reynolds Metals. Blake Irons is a junior analyst in the Credit Department of the Northern Trust Company in Chicago. Frank Carlton is a Fels Scholar at the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in Philadelphia. Jim Tremblay is a Business Trainee with General Electric in Schenectady. Ogden Morse will be teaching at Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, Conn. Og's subject is English, his previous experience was in Neenah, Wis.

Bob Bagdasarian is attending Law School at Boston University, and recently had an article published in the Massachusetts Law Review. John Rocray will begin practicing law in the offices of Fitts and Olson in Brattleboro, Vt. John was recently admitted to the Vermont Bar after graduating from Cornell Law school. . . . Lt. Skip Mackey has been closely associated with the Navy's Vanguard project as a telemeter expert. He was a member of the team that successfully launched Vanguard II. Tex Levy recently won the base squash championship at Hunter AFB, Savannah, Ga. Tex, his wife Helen and their family of two will leave Hunter in July and return to Houston where Tex will resume work with the Houston Corrugated Box Company. Tex has been Forward Base Intelligence Officer during his tour of duty and has been stationed with Gordy Russell while at Hunter. At the time of our correspondence, Gordy was on a temporary duty assignment to England.

So much for news. As you probably know our "old reliable" Class Agent, Roy Hill has been replaced by E. Swift Lawrence (better known to us all as "Swifty"). Before giving a quick sales pitch for Swifty, I think it's only fair to extend Class-wide gratitude to Sky for the great job he did as our agent. These first few years "on the outside" are certainly the most trying for class agents since the class is spread literally all over the world. Besides the difficulty of keeping in touch with class members, Roy was faced with the prospect of soliciting contributions from 650 poverty strickened, embryonic wageearners and students. Despite these obstacles, Sky kept us up there with our contemporaries and helped us to step off on the right foot as alumni. Thanks from all of us, Sky.

As most of you know, there will be no Alumni Fund Drive as such this year. Swifty, however, will find himself no less wrapped up in Dartmouth's financial affairs, since the class agents are assuming the task of soliciting funds for the Capital Gifts Campaign from Class members. As far as we're concerned we can consider this another Alumni Fund drive with the proceeds going to the College for a slightly different purpose. The goal for this Capital Gifts Drive is $17,000,000. This figure is much higher than that set for the usual fund drive, and will necessarily require digging a little deeper for your pledge. Details of the drive will reach you soon - if they haven't already. Let's all pitch in and give Swifty our fullest cooperation financially and physically in this drive to improve Dartmouth's facilities.

That's about the extent of this month's offering. So long for now.
