We have finally reached the magic figure of 200 dues-paying members in our Philadelphia Club for the first time. The achievement of that goal is a tribute to our President Dick Lippman '42 in particular. We are also very pleased to note that the membership rolls include many active men from the younger classes.

Forty-three undergraduates, dads and alumni were on hand at our Freshman SendOff Dinner at the Dartmouth-Princeton Club on Thursday, September 8. Harrison Dunning '60, valedictorian of his class, provided the fledgling Indians with Hanover lore and some excellent guideposts for their Dartmouth careers. His talk was followed by two Dartmouth movies.

Since we last appeared in these pages in June, Jim Tindle '36 played host for our Annual Family Picnic at his Valley Forge Farm on Saturday afternoon, June 25. The weather was ideal and a good time was had by the alumni, their families and undergraduates present.

Due to poor attendance (on many occasions less than attendance at our informal weekly luncheons), we have reluctantly decided to discontinue our special monthly luncheons featuring guest speakers. Apparently such special occasions came too frequently for the taste of most.

At the same time, the Club Executive Board has decided to devote considerable effort to working with our key enrollment people to obtain even better candidates for admission to Dartmouth from the Philadelphia area. There are over a hundred schools in the Philadelphia area worthy of attention and our top enrollment men, Dr. John Wolf '27 M (VI 4-0600), Stew Young '50 (MO 4-3912), and Jim Tindle '36 (NI 4-0960) need much more help than they are now receiving from alumni to do the enrollment job.

Now that the vacation season is over, we look forward to seeing you at our regular informal weekly Monday luncheons at the Dartmouth-Princeton Club, Locust and Camac Streets in downtown Philadelphia.
