THE COLLEGE
November 1960

PRESIDENT DICKEY reaches a Dartmouth anniversary on November 1. On that date fifteen years ago he accepted the symbols of office from Ernest Martin Hopkins '01 and became the twelfth President of Dartmouth College. In tribute to President Dickey's commitment to both leadership and fellowship - subjects on which he has spoken at the last two Convocations opening the college year - he will be the recipient of the praise, warm good wishes, and continued loyalty of Dartmouth men everywhere. The Dartmouth Faculty got the jump on all well-wishers by passing this resolution at its October 19 meeting: "Whereas John Sloan Dickey has completed fifteen distinguished years as President of the College: Be it resolved that the Faculty of Dartmouth College congratulate him on his many successes during those years, and wish for him health, vigor, and continuation of his wise leadership during many years to come."
