The annual business meeting of the Chicago Alumni Club again will be conducted in conjunction with Hanover Holiday festivities, scheduled tentatively to take place on either Friday or Saturday evening, March 25 or 26. As in past years, President John Sloan Dickey will be here from the College and he will be our honored guest. Vital arrangements for the evening such as ingredients for the cocktail hour, dinner, music for singing and/or dancing etc., have been placed in the competent and tireless hands of Messrs. Tom Rowe '50, Peter P. Mackinnon '53, DrewWaitley '52, Jim Stevens '50, and Dick Loewenthal '53.
As required by By-Laws of the Association, the Executive Committee, consisting of present President Rowe and the four preceding past presidents, Modie J. Spiegel '22, Sydney G. Craig '40, A. Newell Rumpf '30, and Justin A. Stanley '33, is now in the process of nominating a slate of new officers to hold office during the fiscal year commencing with the March annual meeting. This slate, as well as finalized plans for Hanover Holiday evening, will be presented to the full Board of Directors for approval at the next meeting of the Board - scheduled for Thursday noon, January 21, at the Standard Club.
In connection with Freshman Football Coach Earl Hamilton's recent swing through the midwest two meetings of enrollment-working alumni were held, one in the western suburban area and the other in the North Shore District. Both were well attended by alumni interested and active in local interviewing and enrollment work. Peter Mackinnon '53, who is overseeing enrollment efforts in the western high schools, arranged the first meeting early in December in La Grange. Dewitt L. Jones '40, HankParker '26, and the writer shared the chores connected with the second session held several nights later in Winnetka.
Syd Craig '40 reports that letters for the Association's annual Chicago Scholarship Fund Drive will be out shortly. Questions, comments, or contributions are welcomed.
There are still many chairs available at the "Dartmouth Table" - every Monday noon at the Real Estate Club Building, fourth floor dining room. Stop by if you find yourself near the 105 West Madison Street location.
