The annual meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Merrimack County was held on Monday, December 28, at the New Hampshire Highway Hotel, Concord with dinner at 6:45 P.M.

Bishop Charles F. Hall gave the invocation. Herbert W. Rainie '06, accompanied by his sons, Donald G. Rainie '40 at the piano and Dr. Robert C. Rainie '41 with trombone, led singing of Dartmouth songs at the conclusion of the meal.

Present at the meeting were alumni and guests, undergraduates and candidates for admission to next year's class with their fathers. There was a total of 86 in attendance, with Oscar P. Tabor '86 the senior alumnus.

Following a short business meeting with the usual annual reports, President Philip D. McInnis '36, the area's Alumni Counselor, turned over the gavel to James C. Bingham '18, the new President. Other officers elected were Stephen W. Winship '41, Vice President and John W. Barto '52, Secretary-Treasurer.

President McInnis reported the success of the monthly luncheons which were inaugurated last January and which are held at 12:15 P.M. on the first Wednesday in each month at the New Hampshire Highway Hotel in Concord. These luncheons have produced an average attendance of 21.

Following the business meeting, the Dean of the College, Thaddeus Seymour, spoke to the group concerning the problems and perils of transition from faculty member to dean. The humorous anecdotes of undergraduate life which he related made it clear that there is no danger of an ebb in student ingenuity.

The Dean's remarks were followed by the 1959 Football Highlights movie.
