THE quiet summer months which are common to the Hanover scene quickly give way in September to the rush of activity that heralds the opening of another athletic year. As this is written (September 16) the football team, which has been hard at work since September 1, has been joined by 35 soccer players and a group of cross-country runners.

The outlook for these three sports can be summed up in three words: "wait and see." There is no optimism that would foretell a title-contender, nor is there a feeling of pessimism, which would indicate a rough season ahead. All three teams have the potential to surprise and have the ingredients for a better than average season.

With the first contests still two weeks away, let's take a look at each team that makes up the fall sports picture.
