The NEWS-FROM-EVERY-'49 Project is launched in full steam. This ambitious non money campaign is underway with partnership of almost 100 members of the class who will raise the vital news from every last '49er during the coming year. As far as we know, this is the first such effort to be made by a Dartmouth class. It is just one of the activities initiated by the class executive committee, which is composed of Bob Zeiser, Al Wagner, Bob Alden, King Ball, Brud Becker, Mike McGean, Ray Rasenberger, Bert Rodman, John Stearns, Tom Swartz, Zeke Thurlow, Ray Truncellito, Jay Urstadt, and the secretary.

Progress report on NEWS-FROM-EVERY-'49 is one of the topics on the agenda of the Annual Meeting of the Class October 13 and 14 in Hanover. Friday evening and Saturday morning the executive committee will hold open meetings. After the Brown football game there will be a class dinner at the Keenes, during which the chairman will present the first of the annual GOLD PICK AXE awards ... to a man of whom we say with pride, "He was a classmate of ours at Dartmouth." There is wide speculation on who the recipient will be, what the award will be. Bob Alden is chairman of the committee picking the man.

Les Felton has completed twelve years of post-Hanover training and set up in Worcester to practice urology. Lester and Bernadette have three children, Tracey, Lee, and Judith. In addition to his professional career in plumbing, Lester is principally occupied in the mechanical, electrical, woodworking and decorating aspects of his house.

Joe Sullivan and Nina have brought a new resident to Needham Heights. Their daughter Gail Marie was born this summer. Joe continues in his capacity of manufacturers' representative.

Buck Weber finally got off the slimming bachelor list. In September he married Susan Jane Bartlett of Shrewsbury, Mass. Susan had been children's book editor for Holt, Rinehart, publishers. Buck is assistant director of admissions at a small New England finishing school.

After four years in bucolic mid-Michigan (Midland) John Mellwraith and his wife Mike (sic) have emigrated to Evanston, Ill., where John is making it as a salesman of building products for Dow Chemical, the goods he was advertising back in Michigan. The Mcllwraiths are preparing for a second child to join their son John at the moment.

Henry Williams of Dalton, Mass., is one of our big men in fund raising. In addition to serving as treasurer of his city's community chest, he has taken on the position of co-chairman of the important advanced gifts section of the United Community Services in Pittsfield, where he works as treasurer of the E. D. Jones Corp. The Joneses have three lads, Henry, Peter and David.

Wade Meeker this summer married Anne Burnett Windfohr, down in Fort Worth, where Wade follows the oil. The bride and bridegroom then popped off to Hawaii for celebratory seclusion, before returning to make their home(s) in Midland and Fort Worth.

Roy Lovell is moving up in the political circle of Milford, Mass., where he was recently elected chairman of the Milford Finance Committee. Roy is advertising manager of the Milford Daily News, vice president of the Lions Club, superintendent of the Methodist Church School, vice president of the church's board of trustees, a Neigh borhood Commissioner in the Scouts, husband to Marilyn, and father to Jeffrie, Bradley, Kurt, Jacqueline, and Marshia. The man is applying himself.

Rank Lashmet, formerly in Cleveland, now in greater Chicago, has hopped up a step at Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Co. He is an Associate, obviously one of those understated titles. He and Julie have a son, Robert.

Walter deHoog appears as script writer for a new USIS motion film which features patriarchal poet Robert Frost. The film was shown recently in Hanover and impressed the class officers who saw it.
