The fall meeting of the Board of Over- seers was held in Hanover on September 29 and 30. Highlights of the meeting included a report by Mr. Davis regarding his current marketing management decision-making research project and a special discussion of international business as it relates to the Tuck School curriculum led by Mr. Marx.
Tuck School was host to the Conference of the Deans of the New England Collegiate Schools of Business on October 9-10.
Mr. Olsen attended the annual meeting of the American College of Hospital Administrators and the American Hospital Asso- ciation in Atlantic City, September 23-28.
Mr. Griswold and Mr. Foster served as members of the faculty for the graduate school of credit and financial management held at Tuck School in August and conducted by the National Association of Credit Management.
In June Mr. Griswold discussed Capital Budgeting in a finance seminar at the American Management Association Academy in Saranac Lake, N. Y.
Mr. Foster attended the Scott Paper Company Foundation Scholarship Recipients Program, October 9-10, in Philadelphia.
Mr. Foster is the author of a book entitled "Understanding Financial Statements and Corporate Annual Reports," published in October by the Chilton Publishing Company. The book is particularly intended for those with no training in accounting and finance. For many this will be a review of financial statements and principles of finance.
On September 8-9 Mr. Quinn participated in a conference on technological planning, held at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He delivered a paper entitled "Top Management Guides for Research Planning." The July-August issue of the Harvard Business Review carries an article by Mr. Quinn on "Long Range Planning of Industrial Research."
Mr. Lent attended the National Tax Conference in Seattle, Wash., early in September.
Mr. Guest has been asked to act as observer and critic of a new type of sensitivity training program for top executives sponsored by the Pacific Finance Corporation. A session was held October 4-8 in Columbus, Ohio.
