My fast approaching wedding is causing a great problem in meeting this deadline I am already two weeks late, so don't be surprised to find that there is a new acting secretary next month. Speaking of the wedding, my sincere invitation goes out to all of my Dartmouth friends in hope that I may have some moral support.
Love is still big in the achievement category for the 59's. George Drawbaugh became engaged to Gail Rosevear on Christmas day. Gail is in her senior year at Skidmore, while George is with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.
Bill White became engaged on New Year's day to Claire Mott. Claire is a senior at Principia College.
Bruce McInnes gave a good report of hisjourneys since leaving Hanover. He returned from a year in Paris last fall, where he was. studying on a Fulbright Scholarship, to accept the position of Director of Music at the Moses Brown School in Providence, R. I. In addition to his work at Moses Brown, Bruce has been doing concert and recital work highlighted by a recital in Rollins-Chapel last November.
While Bruce was still in France, he received visitations from Kurt Wehbring, Ted Gude, Bob Sussman, Bob Bailey, and Howell Chickering and his wife Betsy. He also ran into Dave Robinson and Garf De Marco who were touring the continent. Bruce returned Bailey's visit by "mooching" off him in Munich, as he did the Chickerings' in Cambridge, and Sussman at Oxford.
Further news of Bob Bailey is that he is studying piano in New York as well as. working on his Doctorate at Princeton. Ted Gude is working on his graduate degree at M.I.T.
Jim Neff became engaged to Ellen "Bunnie" King during this past winter. They plan to be married in Virginia this summer.
Word has it from the stork that John and. Sue Davis are expecting a new addition in June. John graduates about the same time from the University of Mass. School of Animal Husbandry. Rather timely.
This all adds up to say that you shy ones out there had better 'fess up with the facts, before ol' Meatball really gets his informers working. I am planning an expose early this summer. If it turns out like I hope, perhaps I can sell the story to Hollywood. It would run for a year at the Nugget. Seriously friends, take a minute and drop me a line. If you are unable to tell us about yourself, fib on your best friend. You must be getting tired of this monthly monologue by now.
In a letter from Mrs. Bob Nelsen, we learn of their journeys, since leaving Hanover, with the U.S. Air Force. Accompanied by their son, Jeff, they traveled to Moore Air Base in Texas where Bob received his preliminary training. Here, he was a member of the last class to fly prop-driven aircraft in this primary phase. They have subsequently moved all the way across the country back to New England where they are permanently stationed at Westover Air Force Base, Mass. On January 16 Bob was promoted to first Lieutenant.
A final notice is the marriage of GeorgePearse to Deborah Martin of West Boylston, Conn. Deborah is a junior at Holyoke. George is with International Business Machines at Kingston, N. Y.
Also, Dick Watson was named as a new agent to the firm of Arthur A. Watson and Co., general insurance agency, in Hartford, Conn.
Heard from Walter Peterson, who, after receiving his master's degree from Harvard last June and being presented with a son, David Scott, by his wife Nancy, began teaching high school English in Norwood, Mass. Congratulations, Walter. It is good to know that some of the members of our class have found such a worthy outlet for their educated minds.
