Apparently the news about the Phi Delts was enjoyed by all for I am still waiting for news letters. However, in searching through old news clippings I have managed to come up with some overlooked news which will get me started.
Engagements
After completing a six-month tour of duty as an officer in the Army Reserve. Hugh Bishop became engaged to Annette Caroline Buhrmester of Lafayette, Ind. A February wedding is planned. Also, from the Boston area, we find that Jim Perry couldn't stand being separated from Willie Gray and became engaged to his twin sister Sally. I guess Jim's brand of singing was far better than that of songster Chip Fisher. Jim is presently working for New England Mutual Life Insurance in Boston. A March wedding is planned.
Weddings
Honolulu, Hawaii set the scene for a lovely wedding that will make Paul Egner and Jane Heberling envied by all. Jane is a graduate of Mills College and a native of San Mateo, Calif. Paul feels that they may settle in that part of California following the completion of his Coast .Guard tour.
Lee Marcy became the wife of Ted Johanson in late August at Marblehead, Mass. They are living in Cambridge while Ted is attending Harvard Business School.
Bob Josefsberg took Marlene Jean Danto, of Detroit, Mich., as his bride in July. TomMagill and Marjorie Brown were united in Reading, Mass., on September 10. JohnnyRemmers was Tom's best man and Stu Hansen was one of the ushers.
Nate Oakes was wed to Carolyn Mary Keefe, of Arlington, Mass., in early July. After a wedding trip to Bermuda the couple returned to Cleveland, Ohio, where Nate is associated with the Society National Bank of Cleveland.
Paul Stein married Audrey Ann Garwood in Webster Groves, Mo., on October 8. And Al Wertheimer exchanged vows with Mary Crum Noble in Syracuse, N. Y., in late August. Best wishes to all of you.
As a follow-up to some previous marriages there are a few births to be reported. A bouncing boy to Art and Kitty Quirk - Kent Joseph, in July. And to even up the ratio, the Charlie MacVeans produced Lynne Ellen in late August. They are making their home at 1224 E. Shore Drive, Ithaca, N. Y., where Charlie will be doing graduate work at Cornell.
In the just plain news column we hear that Stump Goodall simply loves Sabine, Tex., and his duty with the Coast Guard there.
Harry Jeffrey is the Republican candidate for the Ohio legislature while attending graduate school at Ohio State.
jack Keigley was commissioned a Navy Ensign from the Naval Pre-Flight School in Pensacola, Fla.
Smokey Joe's is the new hideout for Charlie Pinkerton while he is furthering his education at the University of Pennsylvania.
A most interesting and educational experience is being had by Scott Palmer who is spending a year of study at Santiago, Chile at the School of Administration and Political Science at the University of Chile.
Harry Shaw writes that he is really loaded down with work from the Navy and has no kind words for sea duty. Dave Allen reports that D.C. graduates are keeping the Navy afloat out on the west coast and is in frequent touch with several of hie classmates.
