The big news this month is that classes are now being held in the new Medical Science Building. At 9:30 a.m. on 31 January 1961, the current first-year class filed into one of the new lecture rooms for the premier session in these quarters. As a recording for posterity, the first lecture was in Histology, and the lecturer was Dr. Shinya Inoue.
All this past week the various departments have been moving their equipment in, and it looks as though the completion of the transfer will require another two weeks at least. Any time after March 1 should be a good time to visit for a tour of the entire facility.
The students gave their what-has-become-an-annual party for the Medical School Faculty and Staff at the AKK house on January 28. The popularity of the affair was attested by the almost 100% attendance which bulged the walls just a bit. Among the out-of-town alumni seen there were: John and MayaMoran M'55, Don Abel M'60, and Pete Dobrowolski M'60. Moe Moss M'54 arrived one week late for the party so spent his time skiing.
The College has announced that North Hall, the former Clark School Dormitory, has been assigned to the Medical School to alleviate the housing problem of medical students.
The Admissions Committee has compiled a roster of 36 tentative acceptees for admission for the coming year. Representatives of nine colleges other than Dartmouth are included in the list.
Dick Hastings M'59 and Jane Pfeifle were married on December 17 somewhere on Long Island - no more details available. Paul Raslavicius M'58 and Sue Cheney, a graduate of the MHMH School of Nursing, started the New Year right by taking their marriage vows in Manchester, N. H., on January 1. Mark Cloutier M'58 and Tom Watt M'58 attended that ceremony to ascertain that all details were properly cared for. Invitations are out for the union of Jim Rose M'54 and Rebecca Ruth Gates, the big event being scheduled for February 18 in Bethesda. Kenand Sally Herrmann M '57 report the arrival of John Evens on January 7.

As proposed in the mailing, if you have any suggestions as to possible prospects who might be interested in aiding in further development, please give them to us so that a detailed presentation may be made to them.
