The folio-wing item about our favorite major league southpaw Peter Burnside from the Washington Post: "Pete, a Dartmouth graduate, still addresses manager Mickey Vernon as 'Mr. Vernon.' Mickey observed: 'Pete's a lot like Vernon Law of the Pirates. Vern is one of the finest men I've ever met but even he doesn't call his manager 'Mr. Murtaugh.' " Pete saved a game for the Senators in the late innings last week (someone else received the win credit) and earlier had been batted out in the first part of one he started (he was the recipient of the loss credit).

This isn't baseball, but it is sport to report that Glamour Magazine-rated bachelor, New York's finest and all that sort of stuff, Nels Ehinger will be wed on June 17 at the Brick Presbyterian Church in Manhattan to Miss Joan Sienkiewicz, a graduate of the Whitney School of Art in New Haven. This news was from Hanover visitor Dek Davidson who also reported seeing Em White on the Upper Westchester express to the big town and getting the added info that Em and Ginny White were parents for a third time on April 21. The baby is a second girl, third child and named Carol.

I talked with Joe Baute on the phone and learned that the Keene, N. H., Bautes also had a third child, and a girl, on March 18. The new daughter is Sarah. Hackensack (N. J.) attorney Les Geller and wife Phyllis had their first child, a daughter, Marcia Lynn, in January. A July 1 wedding is planned for John Tucker and Miss Jean Heyl Royster of Peoria, Ill., and Katharine Gibbs in Boston.

This column has just learned of the marriage of King Howe and Miss Chin Chen (who attended both University of Taiwan and University of Pennsylvania) in June, 1960. King is a research chemist in the polychemicals department of DuPont in Wilmington. Another classmate down in that general area is Phil Israel who's a sales engineer with the Washington (D. C.) Engineering Co. He and Nancy have two children, Carol and Eleanor, and live in Chevy Chase, Md.

Larry Newman, Yale Law '55, is an attorney with Strasser, Spiegelberg, Fried, and Frank in New York City. He and Helaine are parents of two, Debra and Daniel. Another New York lawyer is one Len Larrabee who went to law school at Fordham while working as an investment counselor for the Hanover Bank. Len gained his degree last year and is now with Dewey, Ballentine, Busby, Palmer, and Wood. He and Judy are also parents of two, Judith and Elizabeth.

Bob and Nancy Meanix added their fourth and fifth children in rapid succession last year with the arrival of twin boys, Richard and Paul. Bob's out on the West Coast in L.A. with W. T. Hedlund Co., manufacturers of garbage disposers. Another member of the class sporting twin boys is Loring Wooldiedge. Loring and Margaret split a set of four boys with twins in the middle. By name they are Robert, David, Peter, and John. Dad's with International Paper Company.

Bill Peterson is supervisor of the accounting department for AMP Inc. in Harrisburg, Penna. (an electrical wire manufacturer). He and Janet 'have one child, Lynn Ann, now just over a year old. George Moerlein is directing future mineral explorations in Alaska for Bear Creek Mining Co. He's in Anchorage. Roger Stowell is now a special products engineer with the Stanley Works in New Britain, Conn. Bruce Dayton is the owner of Tristamba, an importing firm situated in Sausalito, Calif. Roger Steinharter has been appointed head of group pension operations in Cleveland for Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. He and Harriet and Michael will live in South Euclid, Ohio.

Hank Waters is president and treasurer of the Canteen Service of Buffalo, N. Y. He and Sibyl have three young ones, John, Henry Jr., and Sibyl. Curt Richards joined the New England Telephone Co. in sales work last year. Bob and Virginia Weinig live in Palatine, Ill., and have a daughter by name of Katrina. Bob's an analyst with Duff and Phelps, Inc. (Chicago). John Newey is also out that way as assistant treasurer of the International Harvester Co. Credit Corp. John and Nicole have three children, Jean Jacques, Nicholas and Natalie (born last year).

I had a postcard from Dick McMahon, one of John Rosenwald's fine agents, and that reminded me that I wanted to report that Dick became an associate in the law office of Johnson D. McMahon last year. Dick earned his law degree at Cornell. He and Ruth Ann have three youngsters, Patricia, Richard Jr., and Timothy Sean. Johnny andMillicent Hubbard also have a brood of three by name of Harvey, Amy, and Mary. John's with U.S. Steel on the sales side. Another sales-aligned classmate, with glass not steel, is Warren "Wa" Reeves. He's with Brockway Glass Co. in New York City and he and Elizabeth can boost of Linda, Susan, and Sharon.

Bob and Marjorie Koester had a baby boy last September which I am just catching up with. Bob's with Tyler Refrigeration Co. as south central divisional sales manager out of Chicago. Nat Parker's with the Pittsburgh law firm of Kirkpatrick, Pomeroy, Lockhart and Johnson and was secretary of the Pittsburgh Alumni Association. Dick Brown is president. John Pegg is a partner in the New York City accounting and auditing firm of John Pegg and Co. He and Mildred have three young, Deborah, John, and Dorothy.

John and Jeannette Brower were assigned to the Minneapolis area by the Joseph Ryerson Co. They have two youngsters, Marcia and Thomas. Another Ryerson man is JohnCutler, an attorney. Jock Craig is a U.S. Marine Corps captain based at Camp Lejeune, N. C. He and Ruth have one daughter, Sarah. Thursty Egbert is a senior publicist with General Electric in Schenectady. The Egberts can publicize the birth of a second son last October, Rogers. Dr. Fred Hecht is a resident in pediatrics at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N. Y. U.S. Air Force Dr.Greg Peterson is chief of urology services at the Homestead Air Force Base Hospital.

Walt Schalick is in law practice in Camden, N. J. Nick and Dorothy Skylor were parents for the first time last November with the birth of daughter Lynn. Nick's an IBM section supervisor. Bill Spaulding is a life underwriter with Connecticut General Life Insurance Go. The Spauldings have three young, Winslow, William, and Susan (born about a year or so ago). Andy Stewart will graduate with an M.D. from the University of Vermont Medical School this month. The young Stewarts number four, James, Zoe Elizabeth, Sally, and Andrew.

Joe Ware is manager of the Ware Cotton Storage and Manufacturing Co., Inc. in Tuscumbia, Ala. Hi you all! Dick Wilcox who spent four years as an Air Force pilot is now finishing his fourth year at Albany Medical College. He and Mary have two children, Carolyn and Sarah. Don Wilkinson is an architect-draftsman in the offices of Ralph S. Twitdhell, A.I.A., in Sarasota, Fla. Roy Worley is executive vice president and general manager of Landis Savings and Loan Association. He and Marilyn have three kids, John, Robert, and James. Dr. Gerry Zimmerman opened a practice of dentistry in Phoenix, Ariz., last year.

FLASH: this is a revised final paragraph to report the news that third children came to Jim and Cathy Binder and Ray and JoanBuck. The Binders had a third boy, Paul Thomas, on April 29, and the Bucks had a third girl, Amy Joan, on May 15. We ought to get together a few years hence, Jim.
