The Executive Committee of the Dartmouth Club of Cleveland held its first monthly meeting under the new administration on April 21, and promptly completed its roster with the appointment of Waldemar Meckes Jr. '42 and William Steck '31 as members-at-large. In addition to these men the committee consists of club officers William Ziegler '50, Raymond Barker Jr. '52, Robert Jones '29, Fred Harrell '53, John Klein '52 and the two immediate past presidents, Francis C. Mills III '38 and Warren Crumbine '37.
Continuing in their jobs in the very important enrollment and interviewing area are three men who have done an outstanding job in years past. Robert Jones '29 will serve a third successive year as Chairman of the Interviewing Committee for Dartmouth applicants, Waldemar Meckes Jr. '42 is the National Enrollment Committeeman for 'this area, and Martin King '38 will again serve as Chairman of the Local Enrollment Committee. We are very proud of the work being done by these men and their committees in serving Dartmouth and the high school students in the Cleveland area.
The Public Relations and Publicity for the Cleveland Club will be in the hands of Robert Conway '42 -who will serve as Chairman of this committee with able assistance from Robert Meyerson '58, Vice-Chairman. Bob has been very successful in the past in getting news items about our Club's activities placed before the public eye.
Wednesday evening, May 17, has been set as the date for the annual Applicants' Dinner. This dinner for successful applicants to the Class of 1965 is being held at the University Club, and all interested alumni are being urged to attend to meet these boys who we hope will spend the next four years in Hanover.
The Club's annual picnic will toe held on Saturday, June 24 this year. Once again Jim Rutherford '24 has offered his estate, which guarantees that this summer stag party will be a huge success. William T. Smith '53 will be in charge of operations on that day of baseball, volleyball, hamburgers, songs, a "beer or two," and anything else he dreams up for the eager contestants. Don't miss this one!
