Dear Fellow Fifty-Sevens, on very short notice I found out that I would be leaving for Dallas and Corpus Christi, Texas. Please, therefore, excuse the shortness of this column and, next month, I will try to bring you up to date on everything.

Bob Young, who began a career in the publishing field a while back, only to have it interrupted by a recall to active duty in the Navy during the recent call-up, has returned to civilian life. In fact, Bob has returned to school at the Columbia School of Journalism. Recently Bob was awarded a Poliak Foundation scholarship which will enable him to undertake special studies to broaden his background in reporting news of business, finance, industry, and economic policy.

Martin Rosenberg, who is presently attending the Foreign Service Institute in Arlington, Va., has been appointed a career Foreign Service Officer by President Kennedy. The appointment makes him a Vice Consul and a Secretary in the Diplomatic Service. Captain Bob Winter has been assigned to the command and staff department at the Air Defense School, Fort Bliss, Texas. Ben Bixby is energetically expanding the use of the "Bixby's Box Toe Shoes" in the Northeast. Dick Duncan is working for the Washington bureau of Time Magazine and is living in Fairfax, Va. (the place where some people named Kennedy weekend). At the present stage Dick and his wife Ann, are awaiting the possibility of a transfer in assignment so be on the lookout for the traveling Duncans.

Chris Wren, after scaling the peaks of Mt. McKinley, has been spending some time down in the South covering the happenings in Oxford, Miss. Keep your eye peeled in Look Magazine for an article resulting from that trip. Frank Andrews and Miss Ann Skilling were recently married and are now living in Ann Arbor, Mich., while Frank is a Research Director in the Institute for Social Research. Frank earned his Ph.D. from Stanford and is now using his knowledge on a research project studying scientists and engineers.

Dan Rosof, who did a wonderful job during the last Alumni Fund, as a Regional Coordinator, has recently left the world of business with David Crystal and has returned to school. Dan has decided to return to a university in Florida to become a doctor. Peter Pullen has moved from the environs of Long Island to the spaciousness of Westchester County, and is now a rising star in the advertising world. A brief note in the Claremont (N. H.) Eagle stated that Dr.Wilbur Springer will give a talk on "Over weight" at a meeting of the Newport Hospital Aid Society. Bill, after graduating from both Dartmouth and Harvard Medical Schools, is a resident in medicine at Mary Hitchcock.

in the wedding column, Pete Diemand and Miss Linda Schneider plan to be married in November (when you read this it will be last month). After graduation Pete served in the Navy (Lt. j.g.), then graduated from the Wharton School, and is now employed by Colgate-Palmolive International.

I am extremely sorry to have to tell you of the death of a classmate of ours, FredMeinig, in an airplane accident on October 22, 1962. A memorial statement appears in this or a subsequent issue of the MAGAZINE.

Hope, Karen, and I wish all of you a fine holiday season.

With regards, Skip.
