In publishing Dr. Dearborn's letter in regard to the Orozco mural decorations, which was reprinted in the April MAGAZINE, the Boston Transcript gave the following sketch of the author:

"Dr. George Van Ness Dearborn was bornat Nashua, N. H., in 1869; seventh generation from Godfreye Dearborn, who settledat Exeter, N. H., in 1637. Graduated fromDartmouth in 1890, Dr. Dearborn attendedthe College of Physicians and Surgeons atColumbia, and received degrees from boththat institution and Harvard. In 1596 hejoined Harvard's faculty as an assistant inphilosophy, and three years later became amember of the Medical School's staff. From1900 to 1916 he was professor and directorof the laboratory of physiology at TuftsCollege, and from 1912-1915, also instructorin psychology at the School of Eugenics,this city. For more than twenty years he hasbeen consulting physiologist and psychologist at the Forsyth Dental Infirmary. In1918 he was appointed to the MedicalCorps of the United States Army, and waschief of the neuropsychiatric service atCamp Devens until peace. From 1921 hehas been surgeon U. S. P. H. S., neuro psychiatric section, and medical officer expert, United States Veterans' Bureau. He isnow attached to the Veterans' HospitalNo. 81, the Bronx, N. Y.

"A Fellow of the American Academy ofMedicine, he is also a member of numerous societies of physicians and surgeons. Awidely known author in his field, he hasbeen associate editor of Medicine and Surgery, and a collaborator in the Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology."

Dr. Dearborn has published some 200 articles in leading publications of America and Europe and has written eight books on scientific subjects. His sketch is in "Who's Who in America," "International Who's Who," and many other similar publications.
