Away from the shifting vicissitudes of our northern weather that tends to keep life from being dull up here, our Floridian classmates find time to foregather in pleasant reunions. The latest was a noon dinner at the Clearwater Beach Hotel on February 16. The report is that it was a very pleasant affair with the following in attendance: Roger and Jane Brown, Fred Chase and his cousin, Mrs. Scales, Charlie and Ruth Good-rich, C.C. and Isabel Hills and Dick andMabel Tolman.

Others who might have been with this group were prevented by different obstacles: Leon Smith by a golf tournament, "L. C."Grover by the arrival of guests, while JohnBell was in Texas with his wife at that time.

Also away from the snow, ice, sleet, etc. und so weiter of hereabouts, but far from the U.S.A. were Bob and Edna Falconer. A card with a most unusual postage stamp inscribed République du Senegal states that Dakar is their last African stopping place, whence they were to fly to Lisbon. They surely must join us at our July reunion to tell us of what must have been a most interesting journey, which had taken them all around Africa.

We extend our warm sympathy to the families and friends of two of our highly respected class widows. Bertha, Bill Clough's wife died in her sleep Tuesday, February 13. Edith, wife of Cliff Pierce, had been ill for some weeks and seemed to be making a good recovery, but died on February 14.

While most of us prefer the Christian point of view, some of you who remember your Horace may care to recall the pagan view of the inexorability of death by looking up Ode II 14 which starts Eheu fugaces.
