The annual meeting of the most southwesterly Dartmouth Club in the United States was held March 6 in the Sky Room of the La Valencia Hotel, La Jolla. About sixty alumni and wives showed up to look down on the blue Pacific sparkling in a warm sun - and talk about Hanover winters.
George Colton '35, the College's director of development, filled us in on where our Alumni Fund donations are going and what changes we should expect the next time we head east.
Rob Jackson '51 and Vance Dickerman'31 walked in fresh from talking with a prospective Dartmouth freshman while LouLeeger '46 and Bob Teaze '47 were over in a corner comparing the grey hairs they get from being city officials.
Oldest class honors went to Warren Currier '08 but he almost was nosed out by a newcomer to our area, R. D. VanZant '10. Other newcomers to the club were RichardLewis '45, Rob Hartmann '40, Ky Lewis '54,Bob McDonald '46, Phil Shepard '48, GeorgeHamilton '33 and Bill Hartley '58.
Our next get-together is in May when we will be pitted against the seven other Ivy League alumni associations in San Diego County in a golf match.
