All Dartmouth men in this area and beyond the area should at once make notation of January 22, 1964. On that date at the Statler-Hilton hotel in Boston we will celebrate the 100 th anniversary of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston. This meeting will honor our two presidents - Ernest Martin Hopkins and John Sloan Dickey — who have done so much for all the alumni groups. The Glee Club will be there to sing and Les Godwin '30, our president, has been working since last March to shape this up into the biggest Dartmouth gathering Boston has ever seen. Let us see you there.
We have been active in other ways this year. The Sunday afternoon greetings to all the accepted boys in this area was held at the University Club last April.
On a Wednesday evening in May we had our annual night at the "Pops" and many of us took that fine concert in and it was a rewarding evening.
This is a good time to remind you of what is now an annual affair. We refer to the cocktails to be held after the Harvard game in a tent right at the stadium. This is run by the Dartmouth Club at Harvard and you should see further notice about this. Date - October 26.
It is interesting to note that the Mystic Valley Club has come to life with a bang and have already set Wednesday, November 6 at the Winchester Country Club for a fall meeting. Professor Gene Lyons, Director of Dartmouth Public Affairs Center and Director of the Great Issues Course, will speak.
In our closing message we would like to mention the weekly luncheons every Thursday of the year at the Parker House. Your secretary has not been a good attendant but when he has been there he has noted a very worthy group of the faithfuls. Their names should be mentioned and this was started during the time Bill Cusack '27 was president. He for a long time was most faithful of all. But a few others are nearly always present when Thursday noon or shortly after rolls around. This secretary feels like he was imposing on old friends when he always sees Tref Trefethern '26 of the Shawmut bank and Stewart Orr '26 of the State Street Bank. Also, Les Godwin '30, our president, goes in as frequently as possible. Others who often go to the luncheon are Roger Brown '05, Jack Hubbard '29, Hans Paschen '28T. Well many others go and if we receive a call down for not naming somebody we shall be pleased. You will be recognized in future notes.
Please once again take note of the big date of January 22, 1964 at the Statler-Hilton in Boston. You will hear much more about this.
Secretary, 36 Salisbury St., Winchester, Mass.
