The Statier-Hilton Hotel was the scene of an exceedingly pleasant occasion January 22, 1964. Upward of 1000 graduates of Dartmouth College assembled to indulge in "the feast of reason and the flow of soul" around the social board.

For the benefit of those few who were not there the quoted phrase is taken from the Boston Journal of January 7, 1864 describing the first assembly of Dartmouth graduates in Boston. Only the first assembly was held at the Revere House in Boston and there were about 100 alumni present. At our January party we had over 1200 people including the ladies.

President Les Godwin '30 did an excellent plus job of presiding at this important dinner meeting. At the conclusion of dinner President Godwin welcomed us all and read messages from all over the world, as well as from the Governor of Massachusetts, the Mayor of Boston, and many others.

The Class of 1927 won the attendance trophy cup with over 60 members present, many coming from New York, Washington, Connecticut and all around Boston. The Class of 1930 was runner-up with nearly 60 members present, including the Governor of New York, Nelson Rockefeller.

Scott Creelman '64, captain of the 1963 football team, was one of the head table guests and brought greetings from the undergraduates in Hanover. He proved to be as able a speaker as he was an able football player last fall.

Alumni Council President, N. Page Worthington '33 made the presentation of a Dart- mouth Alumni Award to Roscoe Hayes '19. This was a well-deserved honor for "Rock" Hayes who also received a replica of the Wentworth Bowl.

We were next treated to very generous selections from the full membership of the Dartmouth Glee Club. They did a magnificent job.

Les Godwin presented a check of $12,000 to President Dickey and this has now made the principal of the Boston Association scholarship fund over $42,000.

The special guest of honor was Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller '30, who made a stirring address in tribute to the two great leaders of our College, Presidents Hopkins and Dickey, both of whom were at the head table. Governor Rockefeller was a Trustee under each of these presidents. At the end of his remarks Governor Rockefeller was given a special Alumni Fund award for his continued participation in this Fund. Presidents Hopkins and Dickey were each presented with specially designed book-ends, appropriately inscribed.

The president of the Dartmouth Club of Harvard presented a check to the College. This was a fine thing for them to do as all are students in graduate courses. It was announced that the Bill Cunningham Scholarship Fund had reached its goal of $40,000. Mrs. Cunningham was there and took a bow.

The nomination for new officers was made by former president John Kenerson'28 and the following were elected: President, Gordon K. Wentworth '40; first vice president, Esmond R. Crowley Jr. '41; second vice president, Fred F. Stockwell '43; third vice president, William B. Squier '40. Executive committee, members at large: Ralph B. Fifield Jr. '46, Philip H. See Jr. '50, William E. Gundy '60 and Joseph J. Slotnick '58. Alumni Council: John K. Benson '31. Ex officio members: National enrollment chairmen, Orodon S. Hobbs '31, John B. Handrahan '37 and William B. Saunders '44.

The main speaker at this 100th annual dinner was President John Sloan Dickey '29. He told about plans for the Alumni College in August when a limited number of alumni may return to college for real study. The meeting closed with the singing of "Men of Dartmouth" led by Paul Poehler '30.
