The oldest, largest and most active Dartmouth alumni body met for our annual dinner meeting on January 31 at the Harvard club of Boston. About 500 of our membership, including our distinguished ex-Governor Channing Cox '01, turned out and all had a good time.
Among the honored guests at the head table was Dr. George Tully '26 of Worcester a member of that famed 1925 football team. The 1962 football team was not forgotten, either. Captain Billy King '63, Don McKinnon '63 and Captain-elect Scott Creelman '64 were with us, plus Bob Blackman, Mike McGean '49, Ernie Roberts and other Hanover guests.
F. William Andres '29 received the Alumni Award for distinguished services to the College and the community. Bill was formerly our president and secretary.
The speeches were made by Coach Blackman and President Dickey. The latter eulogized Robert Frost who had been a student at Dartmouth in 1892.
The Officers elected were as follows: President, Lester R. Godwin '30 of Winchester; Vice-Presidents, Gordon K. Wentworth '40 of Wellesley Hills, Esmond R. Crowley Jr. '41 of Hamilton, Fred F. Stockwell '43 of Winchester; Secretary, Richard Barnard '30 of Winchester; Assistant Secretary, John W. Williamson '42 of Welleslej/; Treasurer, John S. Sullivan '36 of Andover.
Members at Large: Ralph B. Fifield Jr. '46 of Danvers, Richard D. Leggat '48 of Cohasset, Philip H. See Jr. '50 of Marblehead, and William E. Gundy '60 of Newton.
John B. Kenerson '2B, now our ex-president, did a very capable job as the presiding officer. Excellent music was furnished by the Dartmouth College Injunaires. The Boston group is now looking forward to next year when we observe the 100 th anniversary of our club.
