McDonald Loan Fund
MARCH 1963

IN tribute to Joseph L. McDonald, M.A. '30, Dean of the College Emeritus, an anonymous donor has contributed $20,000 to the University of Colorado for the establishment of a student loan fund. The fund, announced by Arthur H. Kiendl Jr. '44, dean of students at Colorado, has been named the Joseph Lee McDonald Fund in recognition of Dean McDonald's "inspiration and assistance to student personnel administrators throughout the United States."

Mr. McDonald retired in June 1959 after serving on the Dartmouth faculty for 36 years, the last seven of them as Dean of the College. He was the mentor of several student personnel administrators now at the University of Colorado.

The fund bearing his name will provide loans up to $2000 to students receiving the bachelor's degree who wish to go on to graduate study. Half of the debt will be cancelled for students who become teachers, doctors, or school administrators.
