Pittsfield

The Club has had a very busy and successful season to date. Attendance at the five "first of the month" lunches has been good with a notable guest attending in January. The legendary "Ma" Smally now lives in Pittsfield, and she favored us with a delightful reminiscing visit.

In December, Ralph Manuel '58, in the area to visit ten preparatory schools, joined us and brought us up to date on admission activities. A Dartmouth/Princeton Co-ed Smoker was held in February with good attendance. Will Volz, backfield coach, led us through that famous final champion game in great style.

On March 19 the Dartmouth Glee Club visited Pittsfield on the first stop of its spring tour. As usual, they were tops. The program was sponsored jointly by our Club and the Friends of the Berkshire Community College. More than $300 was realized for the activities of the College now ably led by Director Thomas E. O'Connell '50.
