Buckingham Browne & Nichols School awarded, its Distinguished Alumnus Award for 1999-2000 to Jon Moore, recognizing his extraordinary accomplishments in public service and contributions to understanding the complexities of humanitarian interventions throughout the world. Jon is currently at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government as an associate at the Joan Shorenstein Center for the Press, Politics and Public Policy.

What's for Free Technologies Inc. appointed Pete Barker to its expanding business and technical advisory board.The company is an Internet-based marketing and branding firm focused on the burgeoning "free" Internet products and services arena ( www.whats4free. com). Pete joined CBS in 1971 as VP of strategic planning, having previously served as secretary-treasurer at Sunray-DX and as first VP of planning for Sun Oil. He retired from CBS in 1991 as the senior vice president, chief financial officer of the CBS/FOX Cos. For the last nine years, Pete has acted as a senior advisor to a number of media start-ups and currently serves as a director of four Nomura Securities Mutual Funds. The press release did not comment on his career as a budding actor and male model.
Norm Veasey was awarded the Alumni Award of Merit from the University of Pennsylvania Law School for his noteworthy professional achievements and strong support of the law school. He has served as chief justice of the Delaware Supreme Court since 1992.
Governor Shaheen of New Hampshire named Dave McLaughlin as chairman of her special commission to study ways to pay for schools. Dave is currently chairman of CBS.
