The death of President-Emeritus Hopkins cast a gloom over our members; but we were brightened by the thought that our club honored him last January at our largest dinner meeting in Boston of over 1200 people. We knew "Hoppy" was tickled to be our guest and we had had some worries that the condition of his health might have kept him away. This probably was the last big gathering of Dartmouth alumni that he attended. We are proud that he was there.

The summer has been quiet as far as activities of our club. It would be well to note now the date of the next annual dinner. This will be Thursday, February 2 at the Harvard Club. The wives will not be included at this meeting; but we will plan an interesting program for all alumni in this vicinity. I will include more details in a later issue of the MAGAZINE.

We still have the Thursday luncheons at the Revere room in the balcony, Parker House, Boston. We hope to see you there.
