... And without even letting us wipe off the "Grease of the Feast" his wife had so elegantly prepared, President Page gaveled into existence another Dartmouth year - and the executive committee meeting that followed was a blockbuster.

With that let me welcome each Hartford member back to another season of activities during which we hope to see even more of you working with us. A brief glance into our future and recent past looks something like this: September 8 - Freshman Luncheon at the City Club where incidentally, all our future luncheons will be eaten but now on second Wednesdays. Change your calendars. Soon there will be the usual, colorful, pre-Yale game smoker; football movies after the playing season: a winter fun-filled moneymaker for our fast growing scholarship fund; an annual meeting with the one and only Thaddeus Seymour; and of course Rugby. These are the previews but just wait until the feature! Your officers have a few extras cooking that just may surprise you. Stick close to those monthly meetings for further details.

A few changes in the executive committee and officers were made over the summer in order to spread the activity among the young. These amounted to Nels Jones '55 taking over a vice-president chair, DickWright '62 as assistant program chairman, and Bud Spencer '40 as undergraduate liaison.

For those of you who are watching the growth of our scholarship fund which now is providing Walter Richter '68 with a four year $1,000 a year helping hand, our total is now about $10,600 or 40% of the way towards the goal of $25,000. Interested members will note that our dues notice again has a space to indicate donations to our fund in addition to annual dues.
