Our class dinner at the Dartmouth Night/Home coming mini-reunion was a fitting finish to a very Dartmouth weekend: PeteBleyler and Pete Stuart leading classmates in almost the entire repertoire of Dartmouth songs, at full voice. The dining room at Tony Field's restaurant rocked with deafening sound. Then we went on to sing well-known songs of the other Ivy schools.

The weekend was highlighted by one of the closest and most exciting games in memory, as Yale and Dartmouth were evenly matched. The Green pulled out a 14-13 victory in the last few minutes, but it could have gone the other way, and the victory was won on a longshot gamble, a two-point conversion after a TD.

The other highlight was a huge Dartmouth Night celebration, the 99th, as the crowd overflowed the lawn and street in front of Dartmouth Hall to fill much of the Green as well. Spotted marching for the class were ScottyLocker, Mike Murphy, Dave Prewitt, BobConn, Pete Bleyler and Pete Palin. Next year is the 100 th Dartmouth Night, which should be monstrous. Be there.

The pre-game picnic proved to be a big success in attracting the residents of the Fayer weathers, the dorm complex that we sponsor. The students organized the cooking crew as well, while we supplied the food. Needed: a few more classmates.

We'll shortly be distributing minutes from our class meeting, with some exciting developments we're not ready yet to reveal to the other classes. Some notes that are public: The New Orleans reunion, April 20-23, 1995, will "max out" with 100 participants, and at meeting time, 60 had already signed up. (If you haven't gotten the attractive six-page brochure, call Ken Kolb at (504) 861-8158.)

Art Kelton announced another outside Hanover reunion: in Vail, Colo., February 1-4, 1996. Oscar Arslanian will be working with Art, along with Carter Frierson, who now has a vacation house in Vail. And work already has begun on our weekend 35th Reunion in June 1996 in Hanover, which Roger McArt is chairing. Art Kelton is hoping classmates with experience from past reunions will help. Because we are using the weekend, rather than the traditional midweek slot for 3 sth reunions, the reunion will be partly off-campus. Among those attending the meeting, and not mentioned earlier, was Harris McKee.

There's plenty of news to report in future columns about individuals who were in Hanover. But here's one item from "outside" the administration building of the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., became the Samuel P. Bell III Administration Building on September 9. During his 14 years in the Florida legislature, including as house majority leader, Sam was instrumental in developing the center and obtaining permanent funding. He is a partner in the law firm of Cobb, Cole & Bell.
