Phoenix

Last May at our annual meeting we were fortunate in having Carl Hill '38, Dean of the Tuck School, with us at a cocktail and dinner get-together at Casa Blanca Inn in Scottsdale. At this time Ed Comins '45, was elected President, Tower Snow '31, Vice President, Duncan Newell '36, Treasurer, and I continued on as Secretary.

Earlier in the year we had a great gettogether with Ort Hicks '21, who usually spends a week in the Valley with his good friend, Duke 'lB, in order to avoid the Eastern snows.

After the usual summer lull the club has decided to have monthly luncheons, which are held at the Arizona Manor, located at Camelback and 24th Street in Phoenix. We will continue this throughout the calendar year now so you may enter it in your schedule of events. At the last luncheon the following were in attendance: Mike Tompkins '57, Bill Miller '51, George Kent '44, Art Davidson '36, Duncan Newell '36, Bill Gilmore '34, Bill Behrens '56, J. Walter Larkin '24, Frank Poor '26, John Connor '44, Ed Comins '45, Charlie Fay '49, Bud Brown '25, Ken Todd '32, Robert B. Marshall '40, Lester Hoyle '37.

We are looking forward to many of our winter visitors and part time residents, such as Jim Chilcott '20, Reinie Rothschild '21, and are ready to welcome any others who might pass through the Valley.

The Phoenix Alumni Club hosted a get-together December 30 at the Green Gables in recognition of students now attending Dartmouth from the Greater Phoenix area and applicants, alumni, wives, parents, etc.
