Dartmouth-at-Michigan joyously celebrated its first birthday on January 25 at the Inn America. Seventy men and their ladies welcomed our honored Hanover guest, Dean Thad Seymour, to this Big Ten town.

Our dinner began with a toast to the Boston Alumni Association on the occasion of its 100th anniversary (in fulfillment of our promise to so honor the Bostonians at our first birthday, festivities). The retiring president, Dick Stoddart '58, presided at the brief business meeting which resulted in the election of the following officers for 1964-1965: President, Prof. Warren A. Cook '23; Vice President, Thomas A. Washing '63; Secretary-Treasurer, Daniel J. Weintraub '54; Executive Committee: Dr. Peter A. Ostafin '32, Dr. Lee E. Bartholomew '47, John T. Batchelder '55, and Paul Weinberg '62. Scott Rambach '54, chairman of the enrollment committee, reported on our luncheon earlier that day for area high school advisers at which Thad Seymour was asked some extremely penetrating questions. Treasurer Dan Weintraub reported that although we were not wealthy, we were certainly healthy. Prexy Stoddart welcomed and introduced Prof. George B. Fraser Jr. '36 of the University of Oklahoma Law School who is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan Law School.

Dean Seymour then entertained us with a humorous recounting of some of his more memorable experiences since becoming Dean of the College. Two of the ladies present provided a helping hand to get the "Football Highlights of 1963" rolling to end a perfect evening. We adjourned late, but it was the most pleasant and enjoyable meeting that we have had since Dartmouth-at-Michigan became a reality some 15 months ago.
